At Scurry-Rosser Elementary, every minute counts! We value our partnership with you in helping your child get the most out of their educational experience.
As a reminder, according to Texas state attendance law, when a student arrives late or leaves early without a medical professional note, it is considered an unexcused partial-day absence—even if it’s just a few minutes—and can count toward truancy.
To help us keep accurate records and support all students’ attendance, we are implementing a new procedure: parents will now be asked to come into the foyer to sign their student in when tardy and sign student out when leaving early.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to ensure every Wildcat’s success! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or there are any extenuating circumstances for us to be aware of.

principals

Just a reminder for those parents that need to complete their student's consent for health-related services.

The 89th Texas Legislature recently passed Senate Bill 12 which requires school districts to obtain written permission from a parent/guardian before providing health-related services to that individual's child. Examples of this include: checking for fever, evaluating stomach pain, cleaning/bandaging an abrasion or determining if a student is well enough to remain in school. In such cases, you will be contacted and may be required to pick your child up from school to assess and manage their condition at home. Please be aware that if you decline consent or fail to return this form, Scurry-Rosser ISD Health Services staff cannot assess or provide care for non-emergency illness or injury.

In 1956, President Dwight D. Eisenhower proclaimed the week of September 17–23 as Constitution Week, urging Americans to reflect on the historic signing of the U.S. Constitution in September 1787—the foundation of our nation’s freedom.

Today, Celebrate Freedom Week coincides with Constitution Week as a time for schools across Texas to honor the values and ideals on which the United States was founded.

Here in Scurry-Rosser ISD, students are engaging in lessons and activities to learn about the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. They are also examining how these timeless principles have shaped our country’s history and the freedoms we enjoy today.

Let’s join together in honoring this important week by remembering the sacrifices made for liberty and celebrating the ideals of freedom that continue to inspire generations. #WildcatPride

Hispanic Heritage Month—a time to honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose heritage traces back to Latin America and Spain.

This national observance began in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan into the 30-day celebration we enjoy today.

Here in Texas, Hispanic heritage is inseparable from our story. The influence and legacy of Hispanic Texans span centuries, shaping communities, traditions, and education across our state—including right here in Scurry-Rosser ISD.

We are proud to celebrate and recognize the many ways Hispanic culture enriches our schools and inspires our students each and every day.
