Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that none of us are meant to walk through life alone. At Scurry-Rosser ISD, we encourage our Wildcat family to check in on friends, coworkers, classmates, and loved ones. A simple conversation, kind word, or moment of support can make a bigger difference than you realize.

Connection matters. Support matters. And together, we can help create more good days for one another. Whether it’s sharing a smile in the hallway, sending a quick text, or taking time to listen, those small moments of connection can help reduce stress, ease anxiety, and remind others they are not alone.

Let’s continue looking out for each other, showing kindness, and building a strong, supportive Wildcat community. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #WildcatPride #SRISD

Last week, Kaufman County 911 Dispatchers had the opportunity to visit with students to teach 911 awareness and the important role of 911. They talked about when it’s appropriate to call 911, the difference between an emergency and a non-emergency, and how dispatchers help keep our community safe. Thank you to the students and staff for welcoming us and learning how to use 911 the right way! Click here to view photos from the presentation: https://shorturl.at/Rhvtp

What a fun day of learning our Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 3rd Grade students had on Monday at the Kaufman County Junior Livestock Show! Our students had the opportunity to see livestock up close, learn about agriculture, and experience firsthand the hard work and dedication that goes into raising and showing animals.

Experiences like this help connect classroom learning to the real world — and in Kaufman County, agriculture is a big part of that story. Thank you to everyone who helped make this field trip such a great experience for our Wildcats! To see photos from the field trip, click here. https://shorturl.at/sgwoG

February 19 is State of Texas Anniversary Remembrance Day (STAR Day). STAR Day honors the annexation of Texas into the United States and commemorates the day James Pinckney Henderson became the first Governor of the State of Texas in 1846.

Texas law encourages public schools to observe STAR Day through meaningful and patriotic activities that inspire a deeper appreciation for our state’s rich history. Today, we remember where we’ve been and celebrate the legacy that continues to shape our future.

We officially hit the 100th Day of School at Scurry-Rosser Elementary — and let’s just say… we’ve never looked so wise!

From creative 100-day shirts to students dressed like they were 100 years old, the hallways were full of gray hair, giggles, and LOTS of counting. Last week our Wildcats celebrated with fun activities, collections of 100 items, and plenty of smiles along the way.

It’s hard to believe we’re already 100 days smarter! We’re so proud of the growth, hard work, and heart our students have shown this year.
